Kenneth Biggers Marshfield MailKenneth Labern Biggers, son of William Biggers and Hazel (Richardson) Biggers, was born June 28, 1935 in Marshfield, Missouri, and departed this life January 25, 2015 with his family and loved ones by his side. At the time of his passing he was 79 years old.

Kenneth spent most of his life in Webster County.  He attended elementary school at Oak Hill until 8th grade when he began working full time on the family farm. At 19, he enlisted in the United States Army and served two years in Alaska guarding the Bering Strait during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, he returned home to Marshfield and began working in Springfield at Trail Liner Trucking and, later, with Grace Cabinet Shop.

On October 4, 1963 Kenneth was united in marriage to Sondra Ann Shaffer.  They were blessed with three children. During their 44 year marriage, Kenneth and Sondra were rarely apart.  Together, they were recognized in the community as outstanding dairy farmers while operating dairy farms at two different times, owned and managed a convenience store in Marshfield, a motel in Berryville, Arkansas and – most recently – The Osage Village Inn in Osage Beach, Missouri.

In his early years, Kenneth enjoyed riding and showing horses. Later, he enjoyed collecting antiques, road trips and watching basketball.  He always enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Kenneth believed in and exuded hard, honest work and expected the same of those he loved.  He provided well for his family. He was not afraid to speak his mind, yet was friendly to all. He was willing to take risks and made wise business decisions.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

He is survived by his daughter, Natalie Short and husband Kevin of Osage Beach; two sons, Anthony Biggers and wife, Danielle of Bentonville, Arkansas; Brian Biggers and wife, Abby of Springfield; ten grandchildren including Riley, Cooper, Macy, Presley, Brittany, Lilah, Tyler, Brayden, Grayson and Kennon; one brother Don Biggers of Pleasant Hope and sister Shirley Hargus of Marshfield; a special friend, Juanita Howerton; and a host of nieces, nephews relatives and friends.

Services for Kenneth will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 29, at Fraker Funeral Home, Marshfield, with burial in Marshfield Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, in the funeral home chapel.
