Clarence Oscar “Jim” Burtchett, son of Dewey Burtchett and Ivy (Downing) Burtchett, was born March 31, 1925 in Marshfield, MO. He passed away at 3:25 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2015 in Mercy Hospital, Springfield at the age of 90.
Jim was a lifelong resident of Marshfield except when he was in an orphanage until the age of 14. He proudly served his country during World War II.
He retired from Marshfield Steel with 25 years of service, teaching several people to weld. He also worked at Rost Lumber, Wal-Mart and the city of Niangua. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Geneva; three brothers, George, Jack and Billy Burtchett; a step-son, Keith Perryman; and three grandchildren, Celina Biggs, Mike Biggs and Petey Baldwin.
Survivors include his wife Susie; one daughter, Betty Young, Springfield; two sons, J.D. Burtchett and his wife Missy, Marshfield and Pete Baldwin and his wife Leslie; one step-daughter, Kim Bertoldie and her husband Doug, Marshfield; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a special niece and caregiver, Bonnie Kilburn, Marshfield.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2015 in the Marshfield Cemetery pavilion, under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home, Marshfield, MO. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
