Jean Buckner, daughter of Sam and Marian (Baker) Beadleston, was born February 25, 1929 in Eudora, Kansas. She passed away January 30, 2016, at Ravenwood Assisted Living, Springfield, Mo, at the age of 86.
Jean worked for the Milking Short Horn Association and Chevrolet for a short time before staying home to care for the house and farm. She married Alfred Buckner in 1947. They enjoyed 68 years of marriage. Alfred and Jean had two children, Steve and Julie; later in life parenting and adopting James and Mindy. Jean was an amazing solider for God. Alfred and Jean Buckner joined Timber Ridge Baptist Church during a revival in 1961. Jean played the piano, lead the music, taught VBS and Sunday School, active in WMU, was church treasurer, involved in a neighborhood bible study, and cooked many, many meals for celebrations, weddings, baby showers, VBS, and holiday gathers for the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents Sam and Marian, son and daughter in-law Steve and Jan Buckner, daughter, Julie Buckner, four grandchildren, Kirk, Dennis, Timmy, and Michael Buckner. She missed them all dearly and now is having the most amazing celebration in heaven with them all.
She is survived by her husband, Alfred, of Marshfield, sister, Janice Beadleston, of Springfield, grandchildren James Buckner of Marshfield, Mindy Frazier and husband Rob of Ozark, two great grandchildren she absolutely adored Cale and Creek Frazier and a host of precious friends.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2016 in Timber Ridge Baptist Church, Marshfield. Burial will be in the Timber Ridge Cemetery, under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home, Marshfield.
Visitation will be from 6-7:00 p.m. Tuesday in Fraker Funeral Home, Marshfield.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Timber Ridge Youth Program or to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of the funeral home.
