Rev. Ira D. Bennett

img119Ira Denton Bennett, son of Thomas Floyd Bennett and Mary Ann (Carpenter) Bennett, was born April 28, 1929 near Seymour, MO. He passed away Friday, November 11, 2016 at his near Hartville, at the age of 78.

Ira was a longtime dairy famer and minister to churches in the Wright and Webster County area. He was a member of the Old Liberty Free Will Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 62 years, Mary Jane; five sisters, Eileen Witherow, Irene Horning, Diane McGinnis, Lucille Cantrell and Anita Cantrell; two brothers, Darrell Bennett and Joey Bennett; and one infant son and one infant daughter.

Survivors include three daughters, Doris Stapp, Hartville, Rita Deckard and her husband Kenny Ray, Hartville, and Ruthie Hannah and her husband Johnny, Hartville; one son, Terry Bennett and his wife Patty, Marshfield; 14 grandchildren; several great- grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; three brothers, Roy Bennett and his wife Geneva, Seymour, Raymond Bennett and his wife Shirley, Marshfield and Jerry Bennett, Pittsburg; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2016 in the Fraker Funeral Home, Marshfield. Interment will follow in the Liberty Cemetery, Seymour.

Visitation will be from 6-7:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to Liberty Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
