Nadine Price, daughter of Virgil Pettigrew and Lucy (Day) Pettigrew, was born January 23, 1923 in Elkland, MO and passed away at 5:15 a.m. December 14, 2016 in the Tipton Oak Manor in Tipton, MO, at the age of 93.

Nadine was raised on a farm and learned to work hard and value the simple blessings of life.  She always wanted to be the winner, whether it was checkers, volleyball, or basketball.  Eventually she met and married Alvin, but it took her three years to decide if he was “the one”.  He must have been because they were married 70 years.  When the local school district didn’t have enough money to fund kindergarten, Nadine’s church asked her to teach their children.  This job became another love of her life.  She gave 30 years to the faculty and children of North County Christian School in Ferguson.  Through all the little crisis moments of life, Nadine thought everything was funny. Her great sense of humor and tremendous faith in God helped her face life’s trials and bring love and encouragement to many friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her two brothers, Col. Joe Day Pettigrew and William Rex Pettigrew.

Survivors include her husband, Alvin, Tipton, MO; two children, Marsha Elizabeth Strunk, Chickasha, OK, and Randy Berl Price and his wife, Jolaine, Tipton, MO; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a sister, Georgianna Burciaga, Plano, TX.

Graveside services, under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home, Marshfield, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2016 in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Elkland.
