Carolyn Kay Jess, daughter of Caroline Evans Didot, was born December 17, 1944 in Piqua, Ohio. She passed away at 1:16 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2016 in the Marshfield Care Center at the age of 71.
Carolyn was fiercely devoted to her family, her friends, her community and her God. Self-deprecating and sometimes shy, she was nevertheless extremely intelligent and a voracious life-time reader. Any who knew her, however, remember her smile and her kind heart that led her to help any she could in need. She was a longtime employee at First Home Savings Bank in Marshfield. She was also a member of the Marshfield United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother; one brother, Girard Didot, Jr.; and one sister, Rita Boyer.
Survivors include her husband Mike Jess, Marshfield, MO; one son, Mark Jess and his wife Christie, Weston, MO; one daughter, Susan Maxwell and her husband Joe, Marshfield, MO; six grandchildren, Schaefer Jess, Brendan Maxwell, Sadie Jess, Kellan Maxwell, Sophie Jess and Caroline Maxwell; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2016 in the Marshfield United Methodist Church, under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home, Marshfield, MO. Interment will follow in the Marshfield Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time Wednesday in the church.
