Edna Rosemary Hyde

Edna Hyde fronteditEdna Rosemary (Layman) Hyde was born to Orville and Adah House Layman, April 10, 1928, in Shannon County, Mo and passed away December 20, 2014 at the age of 86.

Growing up in the Prospect Community, she was a member of Prospect Baptist Church and attended Niangua High School, where she was salutatorian of her class.

In 1951 she married Joseph Hyde. Their dream of owning a farm took them to Topeka, Kansas where they each secured jobs and saved enough to come back to Webster County in 1956 and purchase a dairy farm east of Marshfield in the High Prairie Community. They loved the farm and country lifestyle, their neighbors, and High Prairie Church.

There they raised their children, Matthew Joseph and Martha Rose. Rosemary was active in the Women’s Extension Club in the area and the High Prairie Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Nelson and her husband Joe. She is survived by her son Matt and his wife Sherry, Siloam Springs, AR., daughter Martha Faulkner, her grandsons Zachary and Xavier Faulkner, her sister Joann Hurst, her brother-in-law Dale Hyde and his wife Linda, and her sister-in-law Dora Blunt. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveservices will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 11:00 am at Prospect Cemetery, Niangua.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday evening, December 22, 2014 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm.
