William “Bill” Arthur Brungard, son of Ralph R. Brungard and Elizabeth (Waite) Brungard, was born October 20, 1939 in Beech Creek, PA. He passed away Friday, February 6th, 2015 in his home near Marshfield, MO at the age of 75.
He attended Blanchard First Church of Christ where he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. Bill graduated from Bald Eagle Nittney High School in Mill Hall, PA in 1957. While attending school, Bill liked to play drums, being active in church and singing whenever he had the opportunity.
After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He served as a boilerman aboard both the U.S. S. McKean and U.S.S. Black, stationed out of Long Beach, California. It was there that he met his future wife (Sharon Ann Wachter) of 51 years. They married on August 24th, 1963. Bill moved his wife and three sons to Marshfield, MO in 1971, where their daughter was later born. He worked on the dock at Roadway Express until he retired from the Teamsters in 1994.
Upon retirement, Bill and Sharon opened Bill’s Country Store in Lebanon, MO. Due to health issues they later moved their store to Marshfield, MO, which is now known as The Food Outlet. Being a store owner was very fitting for him due to his jovial, friendly, compassionate, caring and fun loving personality. Those attributes are what made him a loving husband and wonderful father.
