![Stanley William Luce]()
Stanley William Luce, son of Joseph W. Luce and Helen (Reeves) Luce, was born April 27, 1946 in Washington, D.C. He passed away at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, December 24, 2015 in the Rocky Ridge Manor in Mansfield, MO at the age of 69.
Stan grew up in Springfield, MO, an energetic kid who couldn’t sit still. He was very active in Boy Scouts and also spent a lot of time at the Boy’s Club, earning several “Golden Glove” boxing trophies. As an adult he was an avid coin collector. He was employed by Greyhound Bus Lines for nearly 30 years.
He and Cheryl Tamara Lewis “Tammy” were married in Springfield and together they had one daughter, Melinda Jonell Luce. In 1987, to follow his wife’s passion to live in New Orleans, they bought a home in the historic district and refurbished it for themselves and Tammy’s mother. After Tammy’s death, numerous health issues and severe damage to his home from Hurricane Katrina, Stan decided it was to come back home to Missouri. He settled in with his family in Marshfield.
Despite many obstacles, Stan was a true survivor and always kept a positive attitude. He enjoyed the simple things in life…a good meal, anything chocolate, his favorite TV shows and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of Black Oak Free Will Baptist Church and loved his church family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Tammy Luce; and a brother, Larry Joe Luce.
Survivors include one daughter, Melinda Jonell Luce, Metairie, LA; a brother, Jerry L. Luce and his wife Bonnie, Marshfield; and two sisters, Cindy Sigrist and her husband Jack, Springfield and Linda Moore and her husband Ted, Marshfield.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2015 in the Fraker Funeral Home, Marshfield. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Springfield.
