Betty SchreinerBetty Lou Schreiner, age 70, passed away at Mercy Hospital in Springfield on November 17, 2015.  She lived in Strafford and was screen printer for Bass Pro.

She was born in the state of Wisconsin on July 11, 1945 and was married to Wayne Schreiner.

Memorial Services will be at the Faith Baptist Church in Marshfield on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.  under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home.  No visitation planned at this time.

Dorothy Mae Kahl of Springfield, MO passed away at her home on November 19, 2015 at the age of 82.

She was born in Marshfield, Mo to William and Ruby (Kirkland) Stokes on February 17, 1933.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack in 1996.

Dorothy is survived by two daughters; Deborah Carrey of Carmichael, CA and Sherry Leonardi of Nixa.  Four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  Three sisters; Nancy Matney, Bonnie Stokes and Kay Peppel.

Graveside services are planned for Monday, November 23, 2015, at the Marshfield Cemetery 2:00 p.m.,  under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home.

Jesse Alan Hostetler, Jr., infant son of Jesse Alan Hostetler and Carolyn Anne (Eigsti) Hostetler, was born March 16, 2015 in Springfield, MO. He passed away at 9:05 p.m. Sunday, November 22, 2015 in the St. Louis Children’s Hosptial, St. Louis.

Funeral services are at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 25, 2015 in the Cedar Haven Amish Mennonite Church, Miller, MO, under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home, Marshfield. Interment will follow in the Cedar Haven Amish Mennonite Cemetery.

Elsie Hale

Elsie Mae Hale, daughter of Gerald Dorty and Isabella Montague Dorty, was born May 26, 1930 in Pawnee City, Nebraska. She passed away at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2015 in Fordland, MO at the age of 85.

Elsie moved to Fordland in 1968 with her husband James and their family, after James retired from the Air Force.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; six sisters; and on son, Richard.

Survivors include her husband James; two sons, Roger Hale, Marshfield, and Darrell Hale and his wife Sheila, Fordland; one daughter, Debra Cornelison and her husband Tom, Mt. Vernon; one daughter-in-law, Audrey Hale, Fordland; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 7, 2015 in the Fraker Funeral Home, Marshfield. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery, Springfield.

Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Rhyder is survived by his parents; John and Mindy and one sister, Arryanna Brazeal: three brothers; Logan and Kylar Burkhart and Xzayvier Brazeal of the home.  Maternal and Paternal Grandparents as well as Aunts, Uncles, family and friends.

Lowell (Speck) Nunn

Speck NunnLowell (Speck) Lester Nunn passed away at Maple Wood Care Center in Springfield, MO on December 12, 2015 at the age of 88.  Speck was born to Thomas and Elizabeth Nunn in Marshfield, MO on January 30, 1927.

He was married to Ethel Lee Sherrell on May 24, 1948 and to this union three sons were born; Tom, Les and Mike.  Speck joined the army in 1944 and served in France and Germany.  Soon after his return from Europe he was employed by the Missouri State Highway Department where he retired as a Supervisor after 37 years.  Speck was always a master fisherman and after retirement, Ethel took up the sport sharing time together on the water. When they weren’t fishing the area lakes they took up “Line Dancing” and “Square Dancing”.

Speck was preceded in death by his wife Ethel of 67 years and their son Tom Nunn.

He is survived by two sons: Les Nunn and his wife Jan of Camdenton and Mike Nunn of Springfield, MO.  He was blessed with eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Graveside services for Speck will be Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Marshfield Cemetery with visitation 1:00 p.m. at Fraker Funeral home prior to the graveside service.

The family suggest memorial contributions can be made to the Marshfield Schools Back Pack Program in care of Fraker Funeral Home, P.O. Box 85, Marshfield, MO  65706.

Loretta Barton cropped for cardLoretta Mae (Willis) Barton passed away December 15, 2015 at her home under the care of Oxford Hospice at the age of 73 years.  She was born on February 3, 1942 to Gayford Willis and Alma (Haggard) Willis in Northview, MO.

Loretta and Paul Barton married September 22, 1957 and was married for 59 years.  She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Leaford Willis, Glen Willis and Bill Willis.  Six sisters;  Nola Dalton, Roberta Mansker, Estella Linder, Betty Bumgarner, June West and Helen West.

Survivors include her husband Paul of the home and their four children.  Cathy and Duane Johnson, Taneyville, MO, Paul and Debbie Barton, Keith and Ginny Barton and Danny and Karen Barton all of Fordland, MO.  Eleven grandchildren and eighteen  great-grandchildren.  A sister Cindy Higgins of Dahlonega, GA.; brother ; Delmar Willis of Northview, MO., one brother-in-law; Homer West and two sisters-in-law; Sue Willis of Fordland and Goldie Justics of Springfield, MO.

Graveside services are planned for December 19, 2015 at noon at Pleasant Grove Cemetery  Fordland, MO with visitation 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Fraker Funeral Home, Marshfield, MO.  In lieu of flowers the family suggest making donations to the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in care of Fraker Funeral Home, P.O. Box 85, Marshfield, MO  65706.

 

David Eugene “Gene” Butts

David “Gene” Eugene Butts passed away December 16, 2015 in his home south of Marshfield, MO at the age of 72 years.  Gene was born to Ralph and Eula (Petty) Butts on March 18, 1943 in Springfield, MO.

Gene worked many years in construction and as a truck driver. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Donald and Jerry Butts and one sister Irma Nance.

Gene is survived by his wife DeEtta Butts of Marshfield;  two daughters, Dana Butts, Marshfield and Brittney Dyer and her husband Trey,  Lipan, TX;  two sons, Darrell Butts and Darren Butts both of Marshfield; two sisters; Bonnie Roetto and husband Mitch, Niangua and Judy Hayes, Marshfield; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 20, 2015 in the  Fraker Funeral Home, Marshfield. Interment will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.

Joan Marie Johnson was born on February 16, 1943 in Illinois to Edward and Beatrice Marie Belsky and passed away on December 18, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents and one brother Jerry Belsky and one grandson, Jonathan L. See.

She is survived by one daughter; Kim  Underwood and her fiance’ Shawn Mandrell of Conway.  Two sons; Keith Johnson of Arcadia, FL and Kurt Johnson and his fiancé  Dawn Yost of Coalport, Pennsylvania.  Six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A private memorial service is planned for later on next year.

Ethel Alice Druley

img741Ethel Alice Druley, daughter of James Dallas Wallin and Mary Ellen (Shipman) Wallin, was born October 3, 1927. She passed away at 3:00 p.m. Monday, December 21, 2015 in her home in Marshfield, at the age of 88.

Alice was a longtime Missionary and Minister. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald in 2010; three brothers, Jesse Wallin, Raymond Wallin and Roy Wallin; and one sister, Betty Herman.

She is survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015 in the Fraker Funeral Home, Marshfield. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield.

Visitation will be from  10:00 a.m. until service time Wednesday in the funeral home.

Stanley William Luce

Stanley William Luce

Stanley William Luce, son of Joseph W. Luce and Helen (Reeves) Luce, was born April 27, 1946 in Washington, D.C. He passed away at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, December 24, 2015 in the Rocky Ridge Manor in Mansfield, MO at the age of 69.

Stan grew up in Springfield, MO, an energetic kid who couldn’t sit still. He was very active in Boy Scouts and also spent a lot of time at the Boy’s Club, earning several “Golden Glove”  boxing trophies. As an adult he was an avid  coin collector. He was employed by Greyhound Bus Lines for nearly 30 years.

He and Cheryl Tamara Lewis “Tammy” were married in Springfield and together they had one daughter, Melinda Jonell Luce. In 1987, to follow his wife’s passion to live in New Orleans, they bought a home in the historic district and refurbished it for themselves and Tammy’s mother. After Tammy’s death, numerous health issues and severe damage to his home from Hurricane Katrina, Stan decided it was to come back home to Missouri. He settled in with his family in Marshfield.

Despite many obstacles, Stan was a true survivor and always kept a positive attitude. He enjoyed the simple things in life…a good meal, anything chocolate, his favorite TV shows and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of Black Oak Free Will Baptist Church and loved his church family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Tammy Luce; and a brother, Larry Joe Luce.

Survivors include one daughter, Melinda Jonell Luce, Metairie, LA; a brother, Jerry L. Luce and his wife Bonnie, Marshfield; and two sisters, Cindy Sigrist and her husband Jack, Springfield and Linda Moore and her husband Ted, Marshfield.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2015 in the Fraker Funeral Home, Marshfield. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Springfield.


Howard Alexander

Howard Alexander, son of David Gay Alexander and Grada  Mattielou ( Payne) Alexander, was born June 12, 1937 near Niangua, MO. He passed away at 6:25 a.m. Saturday, December 26, 2015 in The Neighborhood’s at Quail Creek, Springfield, at the age of 78.

Howard married Marlyn Sue Allen on September 14, 1956, to this union one child was born. Howard started working at PPG in the 1950’s. In 1979 he retired from PPG and opened his own glass shop, Village Glass, for another 20 years.

He joined the Primitive Baptist Church at 16 years of age and attended New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church since it began. He was ordained a deacon on November 16, 1980.

Howard spent many years farming with his cousin Vestal Alexander who was like a brother to him. He also enjoyed listening and playing bluegrass music.

Survivors include his wife Marlyn; one daughter and her husband, Minga and John Marlin, Conway; three grandchildren and their spouses, Kelby and Martha Marlin, Marshfield, Caleb and Krystal Marlin, Marshfield and Corban and Logan Wendt, Marshfield; four great-grandchildren, Elsie, Risdon, Cora and Emerie Marlin; and several other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 31, 2015 in the Fraker Funeral Home, Marshfield. Interment will follow in the Mathis Cemetery, Niangua.

Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

Thelma Mae Grisham, daughter of William Carroll Young and Nettie (Hill) Young, was born March 8, 1922 near Strafford, MO. She passed away from complications due to Alzheimer’s at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, December 24, 2015 in her home in Gladstone, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; her husband, Fred; 6 children and 1 grandchild.

Survivors include five children and their spouses, Roger and Donna Grisham, Liberty, MO, Mike and Marjie Grisham, Osceola, MO, Tim and Cathy Grisham, Pleasant Valley, MO, James and Gerry Grisham, Gladstone, MO and Marilynne Reed, Gladstone, MO; 13 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 4, 2016 in the Fraker Funeral Home, Marshfield. Interment will follow in the Welch Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10: 00 a.m. until service time Monday in the funeral home.

David Crafton

 

David L. Crafton, son of William Davis Crafton and Kitty (York) Crafton, was born July 26, 1936 in Ridgely, TN. He passed away at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 25, 2015 in his home in Marshfield at the age of 79.

David was a mail carrier in Marshfield and was very active in the Marshfield Athletic Booster Club for many years. He was also a member of the Mission Home Baptist Church and served eight years in the United States Air Force.

Preceded in death a brother; Paul Middleton.

Survivors include his wife Betty; one son and his wife, Christopher and Shawnia Crafton, Marshfield; two granddaughters, Tristan and Delaney Crafton, Marshfield; three sisters-in-law, Linda Page and her husband Michael, Marshfield, Brenda Drapak, Marshfield, Patsy Vanseghi and her husband Charlie, Marion, Ill and Martha Middleton, O’Fallon, MO; one brother-in-law, Don Middleton, Marshfield;  nephew; Tim Vanseghi of Chicago, IL along with several nieces and nephews and his faithful dog Hillary.

Graveside services with full military honors will be at a later date in the Marshfield Cemetery under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home, Marshfield.
